Obama wins!!!

Words can not explain how truly excited I am about the future, not just of America but the entire world as a whole. There is no doubt that Barack Obama winning, holds special place in the hearts of Blacks and other non whites. But i think the larger point is that The majority of people in our country thought him to be the better person to be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. I live and work in a very liberal "college town", surrounded by progressive (mainly white) people who have begun to ask the tough questions about how they view people unlike themselves. They are beginning to release and move away from the beliefs held by their parents. They seem to be experiencing a sense of '-racist beliefs are becoming more burdensome to carry.' Economics has forced many people, of all backgrounds to interact in more venues than ever before. In that close proximity, communications are happening that allow us as nation to recognize that America has to consider it's place on the world stage.

The hard work is still yet to come, and I truly hope that we remain as engaged in our government today as we were up to the election. President Elect Barack Obama represents many things, but he is but one person. We've got to do our part to be better for our own sake as well as for our children.

...more to come.

  1. Ponders, It is truly divine that we are alive to witness this amazing, stealthy, and Jedi accomplishment by Obama. It has truly put the US on the world stage and given us a new opportunity to repair and create new partnerships through the globe. It's certainly an undeniable win for minorities, and like you said a win for the world as we shift from more of the same, to an opportunity to make change. This is an exciting time.... Peace bro!
